The Forster Baby Boomers Bash AN ANNUAL FESTIVAL ORGANISED BY THE GREAT LAKES ROTARY CLUB AND THE COMMUNITY OF THE GREAT LAKES REGION March 29.30,31 April 1. 2007 (Po Box 73 Tuncurry 2428) WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT The Forster Baby Boomers Bash is a three-day festival of music, dancing, entertainment, food, lifestyle displays, sporting and recreational activities reflecting the era of the fifties, sixties and seventies. It is centred at Forster-Tuncurry with some events and activities in other parts of the Great Lakes area. Participants will be local residents and visitors from the East Coast of Australia and of all ages and not restricted to Baby Boomers aged 40 – 60. The Baby Boomers currently make up 25% of the population, control 37% of the wealth, enjoy reliving the best times of their lives and indulging in nostalgia. Forster-Tuncurry has the accommodation and hospitality facilities to cater for thousands of visitors and residents will be inviting friends and relatives to stay. The organising committee is made up of community members with a broad range of business and event management skills who intend making this an annual festival. Endorsements of support have come from local MPs, the Mayor, President of the F/T Chamber of Commerce and Chairperson of Great Lakes Tourism. Club Forster (was the Memorial Services Club) has put its full weight behind the festival by booking entertainment and staging other activities throughout the weekend. One of the main performers will be Donny Sutherland, the self proclaimed first Baby Boomer, who has accepted the title of Ambassador for the Festival. More information, regular progress updates and the full festival programme are available on the website.
