Day 6 - Thursday 22 March - Wingham to Wauchope - 34.2km

Day 6 starts out from Wingham Showground.  A shuttle bus will be provided for all riders and trucks for their bikes up to Comboyne, where a breathtaking view awaits. As a requirement of the event, the NSW Police and RTA have requested us to shuttle our riders up to Comboyne Hill via an alternate route as the buses will not make it up the unsealed section. We appreciate a lot of riders would prefer to ride but it is very rough and windy. Rest assure the view is beautiful and you will enjoy the ride down to Wauchope making for a fast finish to the campsite and the home of Timbertown.

About Comboyne

The dairy-farming village of Comboyne is perched high on an open plateau and surrounded by lush farmland and rainforest, and is our lunchtime destination on this day.

From Comboyne, the road winds its way back down the mountain rainforest towards Wauchope. Stop halfway at Blue Poles Gallery in Byabarra, one of those almost mythic places you all too occasionally stumble across – an out-of-the-way place that really does serve good coffee! Inside is a large gallery with changing monthly exhibitions and breathtaking valley views.

Pioneer history comes to life at Timbertown in Wauchope, a working recreation of a 19th century timber getting village complete with steam train, Cobb & Co coach rides, Clydesdale horses and bullock team.
